Brand & Strategy is the foundation that lets a brand not just look good but be understood in its market.
We work on the things that later show up in every digital and physical touchpoint: how you are positioned. How you sound. What you want to stand for. And how that direction translates into a recognisable identity.
Positioning: the sentence only you could write
Most positioning fails not through lack of quality but through interchangeability. "Tailored solutions", "personal service", "years of experience" — twenty competitors say the same, and it is true for all of them. As a differentiator, that is worthless.
So we look for what genuinely only applies to you: a specific way of working, a fit for a specific situation, a decision others deliberately do not make. That does not emerge from a workshop vacuum. It comes from conversations with you, from what clients actually say after projects, and from an honest look at the competition.
The test is simple: if a competitor could write the same sentence about themselves without lying, it is not positioning.
Messaging: the same claim, everywhere
Positioning is a decision. Messaging is translating that decision into language that works day to day.
That is more than a claim: the way you describe your offer in one sentence. The arguments in the order they are actually needed in a sales conversation. The answers to the objections that always come. Phrasing that holds on a website, in a tender response and in an email alike.
We write it down so it can be used — not as a brand manual nobody opens, but as a set of building blocks your sales team, your marketing and you can work from.
Brand identity: rules rather than isolated assets
A logo is an output, not a system. What decides day to day are the rules around it: how does the brand work on a building sign and in an Instagram format? What happens with little space, on a dark background, over a busy image?
We build identities as an applicable system: typography with a clear hierarchy, a colour palette with defined roles rather than a collection of favourites, image direction with stated criteria, layout principles that transfer to new formats.
The goal is that someone on your team can build a new format without it looking foreign — and without having to ask every time.
Naming: when a name is actually needed
Not every project needs a new name. When one is needed, we work against hard criteria rather than taste: pronounceable in German and English, an available domain, clearance in the trademark register, no unwanted secondary meanings, room to extend to later products.
We test candidates against those criteria early, before anyone falls in love with a name that will not hold up legally.
How this connects to website and sales
Brand work that only exists in a presentation deck evaporates. So Brand & Strategy is rarely the end of our work but the start: positioning determines the structure of the site. Messaging supplies the copy. Identity supplies the building blocks for the design system.
The effect shows up mostly in the speed afterwards. Once the direction is settled, decisions about page structure, image selection or campaign motifs stop being debates and become derivations.
Typical work in this area:
- Brand identity built as rules rather than isolated assets
- Positioning and differentiation for a clear market presence
- Naming for brands, offerings or products
- Messaging for website, campaigns and sales
